Monday, September 15th:
What else can you do if you are in city where Krispy Kreme began?  Well, we stopped again this morning for some hot doughnuts before heading north to Mt. Airy, North Carolina.  Mt. Airy is the city where Andy Griffith was raised and was the inspiration for the Andy Griffith Show.  The town caters to fans of the show and had several photo opportunities including Floyd' Barber Shop, Sappy Lunch, Mayberry Jail as well as the actual home where Andy was raised (now a bed and breakfast).  Headed back to Winston Salem for a brief stop at Old Salem (home of the Moravian church in North Carolina) and then a brief stop in Kernsville, North Carolina to see Korner's Folly, an odd shaped house with many rooms, floors and no two doors alike.  Finally, headed towards Raleigh for our flight home.
