We made the most of our museum and metro passes today.  We began at the Louvre to beat the crowds.  Our first stop was the Mona Lisa, and she does stare at you no matter where you stand.  We saw famous paintings by Picasso, Degas and others.  After the Louvre, we walked through the Gardine de Toulleries on our way to the Place de la Concorde.  There we stood in the middle of the circle and looked at the Obelisk.  A short walk to the Invalides and the Dome church, which holds Napolean’s tomb, was next on the agenda.

Two more museums were next: Musee de Rodin and Musee de Orsay.  On the next metro, we grabbed a baguette to munch on.  From there we saw the beautiful stained glass windows of St. Chapelle and the prison cell of Marie Antonette at the Concierge.  Then just a short walk to the center of Paris, Point Zero, and viewed the Statue of Charlemagne.  Next we walked through the Crypt at Notre Dame.  We walked across the Seine to the Shakespeare and Co. Bookstore.  Back on the metro, we saw the Jardin and Palace de Luxembourg.  We went to an internet café and then on to dinner.

Tonight we decided to climb the 286 stairs to the top of the Arc de Triomphe.  We viewed the City of Lights and saw all of the major landmarks that we had seen during the day.
