Day Two: After breakfast at the hotel, we visited the Acadia National
Park Visitor Center for a film and a few purchases. Next, we traveled to
Northeast Harbor to catch the Sea Princess for a cruise around the harbor
and over to Little Cranberry Isle. A park ranger was on board for the
cruise tour (it was a little foggy today so she talked about a lot of the sights
we could have seen but we did see a large group of harbor seals.
On the island, we visited the Islesford Historical Museum and
walked around town (70 people occupy the island year-round). We made our
way back to the pier, had some lunch, and then drove the Park Loop Road around
the Acadia National Park with stops at Thunder Hole and Jordan Pond. We
ended the night with dinner in downtown Bar Harbor at the Route 66 dinner
including my first cup of clam chowder on this trip.
